Herbal tea after practice: which, when and why

Not every infusion suits every hour of the day. A short guide from the Eiva cafe to choosing well.

After a yoga class the body is warm, circulation is up, and the nervous system is settling. What you drink at that moment can carry that state forward or undo it.

Morning, after a Hatha class

Ginger and lemon. Warming, and it keeps you alert without caffeine. If your stomach is sensitive, have it after food rather than on an empty stomach.

Midday

Lightly brewed green tea, or mint. Both are light and take the heaviness out of the hour after lunch.

After an evening or Yin class

Chamomile, lavender or orange blossom. These genuinely affect sleep quality — especially taken an hour before bed.

A simple rule: the closer to night, the gentler the infusion.

What we do not recommend

Iced drinks straight after practice. The body is warm, and a sudden cold shock tightens the muscles. Wait twenty minutes.

Every infusion at the Eiva cafe is hand-blended with no added sugar. If you are not sure what to ask for, ask — our cafe staff know the class schedule.
